Tia and Tamera Mowry will be headlining a docu-series on The Style Network. The six-episode show entitled, Take 2 is about the lives of the former child stars, with Tia going through her first pregnancy and Tamera planning her wedding. The series, which will premiere in late summer, stems from a Tia and Tamera reality special of the same title that the network aired in July.

“The feedback from their special on Style last year was incredibly positive and showed us how much our viewers identify with these women, their humor and optimistic outlook on life and their daily journey to balance successful professional pursuits with their equally important personal and social lives,” said Style president Salaam Coleman Smith.

Tia and Tamera aren’t just being pimped by the reality TV system, they’re taking charge as they are producing the show with Tia’s manager Adam Griffin. It should be interesting. I know I’d watch it.

And in an interview, the actor behind “Derwin” discussed his own favorite fellow thespian (Denzel Washington) and the course he’s taking with his career.

Besides acting in The Game, what else do you have planned when it comes to your career?
“I’m looking forward to my big screen debut with the film Jumping The Broom starring Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Meagan Good and Loretta Devine. I got into Hollywood to show my talents by playing other characters, and someday I want to be directing and producing. Right now I want to give life to as many characters as possible, starting with Jumping The Broom where I play Ricky, the best friend and best man to Laz Alonzo. The film will be out on Mother’s Day. With The Game‘s record breaking debut of 7.7 million viewers—the most in cable history—the industry has definitely taken notice of my talent. I’m so thankful to the fans for supporting me as well as the show.”

If you had to pick one role you would’ve loved to play from films past, what would it be?
“I would love to play Agent J from Men In Black or a similar character. He had all the components of a star: humor, action, partnership, a love story. Will (Smith) got to save the world. A hero more or less. That’s what I want to do and am going to do!”

For those of you itching to find out what kind of woman The Game’s Hosea Chanchez likes and where you might be able to find him, he offered a little insight in an interview with VIBE.com.

According to the actor who portrays the fan favorite character “Malik,” (although he’s playing this season) the kind of woman he likes won’t be found at the club.

VIBE: We’ve all seen Malik mack and get women, so which place or situation is Hosea most likely to meet ladies?

“At the airport.”

You’ve actually met girls that you would go out with there?

“[Laughs] Yeah, why do you sound so shocked?  I wouldn’t meet her at a club. If you are probably in the club you probably aren’t the chick for me. I say airports because I spend a lot of time in them, so that’s a perfect place.”

What would be an ideal date for you?

“Completely submerging myself in ‘her’ world. I’m a people watcher/learner. I can’t be like movies and dinner, that’s not me. I love to do those things but I like to find out more about people. So for me it would be about coming to her house, watch movies, look through her DVD’s. I am nosy as hell by the way [laughs] see what she’s watching, check her search engine to see what she’s been up to, I’m just kidding.  Seriously it would be about submerging myself into her world whatever that may be.”

He also touched on his celebrity crushes:

Most celebrities have them; do you have any celebrity crushes?

Sanaa Lathan, Halle Berry, I could go on but I don’t want to bore you [laughs] Zoe Saldana, and Scarlett Johansson.

GAME TALK: Media Dish on The Game’s Premiere!

Fans of The Game (myself included) waited almost two years for the show to return. Now that it’s finally here, what did you think of last night’s premiere? I liked it a lot! We’re only one episode deep and there’s already drama. Are you making predictions for where the show is going to go? I know I am. Here are 10 reasons why I love this season already:

1. The Melanie/Derwin Saga Continues:

The Game would never be complete without Melanie and Derwin’s drama. Before the marriage, they were constantly off and on. Now that they’re finally married, Janay and Derwin’s child are keeping Melanie’s vision of the perfect picture from becoming a reality. In last night’s episode, Melanie had her friend do a paternity test that initially proved that DJ wasn’t Derwin’s, only to find out that her friend that did the test made a mistake because of a lack of sleep. Yikes! Even worse is that Melanie didn’t tell Derwin about the mistake right away (classic Melanie) so her grave is being dug deeper. But at least we know that even though they’re married, they’re still going to go through it. Their drama is always entertaining.

2. Tee Tee is Growing Up:

I feel bad for Tee Tee. His girlfriend and cousin played him but the bright side is that he’s a businessman now and less of a goofball. Despite the setback, I think he’ll be fine this season. Plus, his inevitable “told you so” moment when it comes to Malik is probably going to be epic.

3. Tasha Mack is Never Going to Change:

She’s still loud, sassy and insecure, but that’s why we love her, right?

4. Jason Pitts Can Be Who He Always Wanted to Be:

Let’s face it, he’s naturally a jerk–always has been. He once said he married Kelly because he needed a tax write-off and he enjoyed the sex, but we saw throughout their marriage that they weren’t right for each other. Jason tried to control her and most of all, it was obvious that he was suppressing his arrogant playboy ways. Now that he’s single he’s free to date around and let loose. We get to see the real Jason Pitts, love it or hate it. But I suspect the best part about this is the hell that Kelly is going to give him.

5. Kelly’s New Independence:

She’s kind of independent on one hand because she has her own reality show. However, she is still being supported by Jason Pitts’ money so she’s not all the way there yet. Her ego is also getting out of control but it’s still nice to see her coming into herself and not being as passive as she used to be.

6. Malik’s Impending Karma:

Malik is still full of himself. He’s dealing with the team owner’s wife (Meagan Good) and played his cousin by sleeping with his girl. I have a feeling his karmic retribution is not to be missed.

7. Another Good Black TV Show on Air:

Anytime we get a Black TV show on air that features characters in non-stereotypical ways is major. It’s sad that I had write that in 2011, but it’s true.

8. Break From TV Monotony:

Is it just me or is TV cluttered with too much reality TV? I like reality TV but sometimes I just want a fictional show where the characters are made up and not trying too hard with over-the-top antics because they want to be famous.

9. Meagan Good

Meagan Good was a welcome surprise to the cast.  The Eve’s Bayou star-turned-pop-star is definitely going to add some more sass and class.

10. Terrence J.

Terrence J!  The 106 & Park host is really getting his acting on from Stomp The Yard to Burlesque and now The Game.  I will definitely be tuned in all season!

As we draw closer and closer to the premiere date, fans of BET’s The Game are being treated to details about what they can expect from the newly resurrected series.

Hosea Chanchez, who plays “Malik Wright” on the show, told Atlanta’s V-103 about one surprise for the season.

He said: “The network gave me one spoiler I can give ya’ll: Meagan Good will be joining our cast.”

Though he wouldn’t divulge any additional details, Chanchez noted, “[Good] is around for a long time, let’s just say that.”

Tune in to BET starting Tuesday, January 11 at 10PM EST to find out what else happens in the new season of The Game.

With only a few weeks away from the start of all new episodes of The Game, BET will run a marathon on both New Year’s Day and January 2.

So, if you’ve been living under a rock and never saw a single episode of the show on the CW or BET – or maybe missed a couple of episodes – be sure to tune into BET on January 01 and January 02 for The Game Marathon. Or, if you’ve seen every last one of them already watch it again and consider it an opportunity to “recover” from your New Year’s Eve celebration.

As excitement gains for the return of The Game on BET, Wendy Raquel Robinson, who plays the popular character, “Tasha Mack,” on the series shed just a little light on the show and her thoughts about returning to the series.

In this short interview with HipHollywood.com, the veteran actress sheds light on how certain cast members will fit in the resurrected series, as well her thoughts on the Ms. Mack and the outpouring of support she gets from a variety of fans.

I’m glad she pointed out that not only black people watched the show. I remember the days when The Cosby Show and A Different World were huge ratings earners in the previous decade. Then all of a sudden magically network executives decided that American households channeled the 1950s in their viewing habits despite evidence to the contrary.

Ah well, the CW’s loss is BET’s gain.

Can’t wait for The Game to return.

Tia Mowry has given her second interview since the cancellation of The Game.

When she spoke with BET.com, she was sincerely overwhelmed by the outpouring of fans from the show and expressed optimism that the show would not end simply because the CW chose to move on without the series on its lineup.

In her interview with TVGuide.com, Tia responds to talk that BET may be interested in picking up the show.

As of now BET is said to be working on hammering out an agreement over licensing fees with CBS Television Studios, which owns the show.

Tia said:

“[BET chairman and CEO] Debra Lee is trying everything and anything to make this happen. The Game gets higher ratings than BET’s original programming, and we’ve heard there would be a huge marketing campaign. So I personally believe the show would be taken to another level.”

As for past talk that the show will take on a dramedy format in future seasons, Tia added, “I could care less if it’s an hour or a comedy as long as we got to have fun and be creative together.”

Tia encourages fans to continue writing CBS Television studios while those behind the “Save The Game” campaign continue to mobilize their efforts via Twitter.

TV Guide, Mediaweek and AccessHollywood.com have joined Bravo’s TelevisionWithoutPity.com as partners for this year’s Tubey Awards, which is an opportunity for fans to choose the best, worst, most improved and craziest characters, series, moments and more from the 2008-2009 television season. Televisionwithoutpity.com has unveiled this year’s edition, including more categories than previous years yet, there is no Black representation.

According to the site, the Tubey Awards are aimed at viewers who love TV when it’s good, but love to hate it even more when it’s bad, which explains quirky categories like Least Villainous Villain, Most Underrated Show, Most Appalling Reality Star, etc. But what about us? I love the category choices however, when I went to the site and saw who was up for what, I was disappointed. Black TV shows have never fully gotten their props, nor have Black actors, but it seems we’ve entered an era where there is nothing on TV representative of our culture. As much as I watch reality TV, I don’t want to be associated with the negative stereotypes perpetuated by the sistas who appear on those shows. Sure, we have actors like Chandra Wilson, Blair Underwood, Tristan Wilds and Jada Pinkett-Smith on mainstream TV shows but what about shows representative of our culture?

CW canned the extremely popular Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Chris and The Game without any real explanation, nor did these shows get proper season finales. Even worse, these shows had substantial audiences that were predominately African-American but still transcended race in appeal. So I’m scratching my head, wondering why the Black TV presence is non-existent not just on the tube, but when it comes to getting props! The Tubey Awards is recognizing shows from 2008 and some of the shows I mentioned were still on air then.

One of the categories that stood out to me was Most Painful Series Cancellation. I asked five people (who didn’t know each other) what their choice was, and they all said The Game, and I agree. The shows chosen for that category by Television Without Pity are Boston Legal, Kings, Life, My Name is Earl, Pushing Daisies, Reaper, Samantha Who?, Stargate Atlantis, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and The Unusuals. Some of those choices are good shows but others…not so much. You mean to tell me they couldn’t find room for The Game or Everybody Hates Chris? Fail!

The Tubeys are supposed to be fun and atypically goofy, unlike traditional awards shows so I may be making this a lot more serious than it needs to be, but I’m not a fan of being snubbed. What do you think?
